If your problem sounds like this:

Resolution

These errors usually mean something on your PC is preventing the Riot Client or your game from launching or updating properly. This can happen because of corrupted or outdated files, driver issues, or background programs interfering with the game. If something's getting in the way, let's clear the path and get you back into the game.

  1. Disable DevOverrideEnable. Follow our guide to deactivate DevOverrideEnable in Windows Registry Editor. This setting can interfere with system integrity checks and prevent the Riot Client from installing, updating, or launching games.
  2. Perform a clean boot. Clearing up background processes can ensure other programs aren't fighting for the spotlight against your game, and a clean boot helps you clear those potential troubles.
  3. Configure your firewall. Your firewall may be blocking the Riot Client or your game from running or communicating properly. Follow our guide to configure your firewall.
  4. Update your graphics card driver. Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can prevent your game from launching properly. Follow our guide to update your graphics card drivers, then try launching your game again.
  5. Reinstall your game.  A clean reinstallation can replace corrupted or missing files that may be causing the error.
  6. Remove and reinstall Vanguard. The quickest way to restore Vanguard's default settings is to manually uninstall it, then restart your PC and launch your game again to reinstall Vanguard.
