Your network has a lot going on behind the scenes, and Killer Network Service (often called the Killer Performance Suite or Killer Intelligence Center) tries to keep everything running smoothly by deciding which applications get priority. Unfortunately, that can sometimes include giving your games less priority than they need.

If you're experiencing connection issues, disabling Killer's traffic prioritization features may help your Riot games communicate with our servers more reliably.

Option 1: Disable Killer Prioritization Engine

If you have Killer Intelligence Center installed:

  1. Open Killer Intelligence Center.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Turn Killer Prioritization Engine off. On older versions, this option may be called Advanced Stream Detect.
  4. Restart your computer before testing the game again.

Option 2: Disable Killer Network Service

If you don't have Killer Intelligence Center installed, or the option above isn't available:

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Type services.msc, then press Enter.
  3. Locate Killer Network Service or Rivet Bandwidth Control in the list.
  4. Right-click the service, then select Properties.
  5. Under Startup type, select Disabled.
  6. Click Apply, then OK.
  7. Restart your computer before testing the game again.

Once Killer's traffic prioritization features have been disabled and your computer has restarted, the Riot Client and your game should be able to communicate with our servers without interference from the Killer network software.
