Every good teammate shows up before the match starts, and Vanguard is no different. If you've enabled Vanguard Pre-Check, Vanguard is designed to launch on-demand when you start a Riot game instead of automatically when Windows starts. If you haven't, you need to make sure the vgc service starts with Windows by following these steps:
- Press Windows Key 🪟 + R
- Type services.msc and press Enter
- In the Services window, locate vgc
- Double-click vgc to open its properties
- Under Startup type, select Automatic
- If the Service status is Stopped, click Start
- Click Apply, then OK
- Restart your computer
Once your PC has restarted, launch the Riot Client and try starting your game again. Vanguard should now start automatically whenever Windows boots.
