Vanguard Pre-Check is an optional feature that gives you more control over when Vanguard runs on your system.

Instead of starting automatically when Windows starts, Pre-Check enables Vanguard to launch when starting a Riot game, then run on-demand before shutting down after gameplay ends.

To help maintain a secure gameplay environment, the on-demand version of Vanguard is only available on devices that meet specific Windows security requirements, including:

If eligible, you can view your current security status through the VGTray, which will identify any requirements that still need attention through Vanguard Pre-Check. 

Vanguard Pre-Check Verification

You can check for Vanguard Pre-Check compatibility through the tool sitting in your system tray, which determines if your computer is eligible for the on-demand version of Vanguard. Once you start the tool, it identifies whether your computer is Pre-Check compatible, and will additionally inform you of what actions you can take using our Vanguard Security Requirements and Troubleshooting page to resolve your specific issues.
