What are chromas?
Chromas are another way to customize your champion. While skins are generally reimagined versions of champions – Graves as a Mafia boss, Cho’Gath with Victorian sensibilities, Lux as a magical girl – chromas are more of a wardrobe change. They alter the color palette of a skin without altering its core theme.
How do I get chromas?
There are a few ways to get chromas.
First, you can use RP to buy them individually or in chroma packs. Chroma packs are available in the Skins tab of the store by selecting the Chroma category. Price may vary depending on whether you grab a chroma skin bundle or an individual chroma skin (usually 290 RP each). Individual chromas can also be bought in-game when you're selecting your champion for a last-second makeover. When you view a chroma in the store, the list price adjusts based on whether or not you own the relevant champion or skin.
Some chromas are only included with bundles, so take that into consideration when you're looking at getting more options for a skin you really like as bundles often are only available within a limited window of skin release.
If you're short on RP, you can wait for our twice-a-year Essence Emporium, where many chromas are available for 2,000 BE each. Available chromas generally rotate every other Emporium, so if you aren't seeing the color you want, hold out for about six months for another shot!
If you're looking to get high-tier chromas, the Mythic Shop has exclusive Mythic Chromas for certain champion skins on a rotating basis, each one available for 35 Mythic Essence. Last but not least, certain chromas are available in The Sanctum, a special shop where you use Ancient Sparks to earn rare content (skins, titles, banners, chromas, and more).
To get a chroma, you must own the original champion or skin it changes.
Can I refund a chroma pack?
Chroma packs or individual Chroma skins can be refunded within 90 days of purchase for one refund token. Please see our Content Refund FAQ for more information.
Will there be chroma sales, like skin sales?
Your best bet is to wait for our twice-annual Essence Emporium, where you can grab a variety of chromas for Blue Essence. If you're lucky, chromas are also sometimes available for RP in time-limited sales for 195 RP each.
Can I gift or mystery gift chroma packs?
Not at the moment, but perhaps in the future.
