Some Windows PCs, especially laptops, have two GPUs: one that saves power and another built for heavier lifting. Sometimes Windows picks the power-saving option, which can leave your game running below its best.
Setting your Riot game to use the High performance GPU helps make sure Windows is using the more powerful graphics processor when you play.
Set Your Game to Use the Dedicated GPU
- Open Windows Settings.
- Go to System > Display > Graphics.
- Find the affected Riot game in the list.
- Select the game, then select Options.
- Under Graphics preference, select High performance. Windows should show which GPU is associated with this option.
- Select Save.
- Restart the game and test again.
Don't See Your Game?
- On the Graphics settings page, use the option to add or browse for a desktop application.
- Navigate to the folder where your Riot game is installed.
- Select the game's .exe file.
- Once the game appears in the list, select it and open Options.
- Select High performance, then Save.
- Restart the game and test again.
Note: The installation location may vary depending on where you installed the game.
