If your problem sounds like this:

  • The game won't launch and I see the message "Can't launch the game yet."
  • My game stopped launching after I enabled Compatibility Mode.
  • I turned Compatibility Mode off, but I'm still getting the same message.

Resolution

Compatibility Mode can interfere with the game from launching correctly. If you see this message, make sure you're using a supported version of Windows and that Compatibility Mode is turned off for the game and the Riot Client.

  1. Check the minimum system requirements. Make sure your system meets the minimum requirements for the game you're trying to play.
  2. Update Windows. Windows updates include bug fixes, security updates, and compatibility improvements that can affect your game. Install all available Windows updates, restart your PC if prompted, then try launching your game again.
  3. Disable Compatibility Mode. Make sure Compatibility Mode is turned off for both the game and the Riot Client, then try launching the game again.
  4. Repair the game client. If something in the game files has gone sideways, the Riot Client Full Repair Tool can help straighten it out.
  5. Reinstall your game.  A clean reinstallation can replace corrupted or missing files that may be causing the issue.

Still Having Issues?

If the game still won't launch after trying these steps, submit a ticket to Player Support. Make sure you attach your logs so we can take a closer look.
