Having issues installing VALORANT? Don’t worry, Agent. To get to the bottom of your installation woes, here are some troubleshooting steps you can take.

  • Reinstall the installer. Redownload the installer from the VALORANT website and reinstalling it. You'll have to make or sign in to your Riot account before you can download the installer.

  • Reinstall VALORANT, Riot Vanguard, and the Riot Client. If you're able to successfully reinstall the installer but are still unable to get VALORANT up and running, try doing a clean reinstall of everything you need to play: VALORANT, Riot Vanguard, and the Riot Client. All three of these programs will be available to install through the VALORANT installer. You'll need to restart your computer for all programs to install and update.

  • Reinstall VALORANT as Administrator. If a program or setting is interfering with installation, reinstalling VALORANT with administrator privileges may help you bypass those issues.
    • Right click the Install VALORANT application.
    • Click the Run as Administrator option.
    • If a pop-up appears asking if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device, click Yes. Installation should begin from here.
  • Configure your firewall. You can add VALORANT as an exception by following the steps outlined here.
  • Update Windows. Make sure you have the latest Windows updates installed by checking here. When the pop-up appears, click Open Settings.
  • Update your graphics card drivers. You can learn why this is important and how to update your drivers here.
