If your problem sounds like this:
- My ping is high or keeps spiking while I play.
- I keep disconnecting or reconnecting during matches.
- My connection becomes unstable even though the game stays open.
Resolution
High latency, ping spikes, and disconnections can happen when your device has trouble maintaining a stable connection to the game. Try the steps below in order.
- Try a different network. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see if the issue only happens on one connection. If possible, try another stable Wi-Fi network too.
- Turn off any VPN. VPNs can sometimes add extra distance or interfere with your connection to the game, so disable yours temporarily and test again.
- Temporarily toggle Airplane Mode. Turn Airplane Mode on, wait a few seconds, then turn it back off and reconnect to your network. This can help refresh your device's connection.
- Check your Wi-Fi connection. If you're using Wi-Fi, move closer to your router and avoid crowded or unstable networks where possible.
- Pause other network activity. Large downloads, streaming, cloud backups, or other devices using a lot of bandwidth can affect your connection while playing. Pause anything you don't need and test again.
- Restart your device. A quick restart can clear temporary network or system issues that may be affecting your connection.
- Restart your router. If the issue only happens on your Wi-Fi connection, restart your router and reconnect once it's back online.
- Update your device. Make sure your device is running the latest available version of its operating system (Android, Apple).
- Update the game. Check the App Store or Google Play Store for any available game updates and install them before trying again (Android, Apple).
- Change your DNS settings. If your current DNS is having trouble routing requests correctly, switching to a public DNS temporarily can help rule it out as the cause.
