2XKO Evergreen Transition FAQ

As you might've heard, 2XKO active development will end in December 2026. That announcement goes into the "why" of this decision and offers plenty of details, so be sure to give it a read. If you're still left with questions about some of the specifics, we're happy to provide answers about timelines, upcoming changes, and refunds.

What does "ending active development" mean?

In short, it means we'll stop adding new content (like champions or stages) and there will be no more planned patches after 2026 ends. 

However, servers will remain on beyond 2026, and 2XKO will be playable on all platforms. Through the rest of 2026, we’ll be introducing content, feature improvements, and two new champions (Lux and Samira), with the intent to deliver our final bug fix patch in December of this year. After that, servers will remain on to support online play. Offline play is unaffected. We’ll give advanced notice if any of that changes.

Here's a quick summary of what you can expect:

• Playability: You can still log into 2XKO and play alone or with friends. While we are removing Ranked lobbies, modes like Casual, Tutorial, The Climb and Offline remain available.
• Your Collection: You will retain every item you’ve unlocked—all your champions, chromas, skins, and other cosmetics will remain active in your inventory.
• Ranked Achievements: Milestones and rewards you’ve earned in previous Ranked seasons will remain part of your account history.
• Full Refunds: We will be issuing full refunds for all past KO Points purchases and Starter Editions. Even after your purchases are refunded, you will keep all content unlocked through those transactions.

Current Content and the 2XKO Ultimate Bundle

As mentioned above, you'll keep all your currently owned content.

In fact, you may end up with a bigger collection without lifting a finger, as we're unlocking all champions for free with Patch 1.3.1.

If there are still a few items you're looking to get, you’ll still be able to buy profile and avatar items, stages and certain chromas with Credits. We're even removing the 12,000 Credit cap, so you can accumulate as many as you need.

If you want to fill out your collection, we're releasing the 2XKO Ultimate Bundle with Patch 1.3.1. This includes all currently released finishers, skins, skin chromas, and taunts for every champion up to (and including) Lux and Samira after her release. You can pick it up for $39.99 / £33.99 / €39.99.

KO Points and the Rotating Store

Real-money purchases of KO Points are disabled as of August 20, 2026, but you can still spend your remaining KO Points until the Rotating Store closes on Patch 1.3.1 (arriving September 8, 2026).

Discontinued Online Features

To help set up 2XKO for the long run, we're disabling Ranked lobbies and removing Battle Pass progression and placements on September 8 with patch 1.3.1. This will help us keep online play healthy by increasing the pool of your potential opponents, and don't worry—we're still going to have skill-based matchmaking.

Any Ranked rewards you’ve earned in past seasons will remain safely in your inventory.

What about 2XKO tournaments?

The 2XKO Competitive Series will proceed as planned for 2026, concluding with our final official event in November. Community Tournaments may remain active under our standard Community Competition Guidelines, so players can continue organizing and participating in grassroots competitive events.

Cash Refunds

To show our appreciation to everybody who's supported 2XKO, we're issuing refunds for all past KO Points and Starter Edition purchases made before August 20, 2026.

You'll be contacted via email with more details about the specific amount you'll be refunded, so keep an eye on your inbox. The way you'll get your refund depends on how the purchase was made:

• PC: Outside of Japan and South Korea, refunds will be automatically credited directly back to the original payment method used (for example, the credit card used for the purchase).
• Console: Refunds will be processed through the respective console platform’s standard procedures (PlayStation and XBOX).
• Special Regional Partner: If you live in an area where Riot is not the local publisher, we'll work alongside the relevant partners to process refunds.
• Other (Prepaid Card, Access Code, etc): We've found a partner to help us provide refunds even in these instances. You'll still receive an email with details on what to expect next, it just won't be as simple as a direct credit.

We plan to have these refunds issued by November 1, 2026, so we kindly ask that you wait until that date to submit a ticket if you still haven't heard from us.

ALL REFUND REQUESTS MUST BE MADE BY DECEMBER 7, 2026. After that, we will no longer be issuing refunds for 2XKO (regional exceptions may apply).

2XKO Ultimate Bundle Refunds

As 2XKO Ultimate Bundles will only be available after the August 20, 2026 cutoff, they are not included in the Cash Refund process detailed above. They are not refundable except as otherwise required under applicable law, as per our usual Refund Policy.

Schedule & Important Dates

We'll continue to deliver patch support for 2XKO through Patch 1.3.5 in December 2026. After that, the game will enter a maintenance state, and no future patches are planned at this time.
