Bug: The alpha client becomes unresponsive

OS: Windows and Mac

Alpha Client version: .01

Fix: If your client becomes unresponsive, use the instructions below to submit your logs to us for further investigation!

Finding your logs:

Windows

Navigate to your install location for League of Legends. The default location is C:\Riot Games\League of Legends. Open up the Logs folder, then the LeagueClient Logs folder and open the most recent log in the plain text editor of your choice. Select all of the text and hit ctrl+C to copy.

You'll see two different types of logs: "XXXXXXXXX_LeagueClient.log" and "XXXXXXXXX_LeagueClientUx.log". We'll need the newest version of both logs to troubleshoot the issue.

Mac

Right click on the alpha client icon and click “Show Original”. Open up the Logs folder, then the LeagueClient Logs folder, and open the most recent log in the plain text editor of your choice. Select all of the text and hit cmd+C to copy.

Copy your logs using Pastebin.com

Note: You don't need to create an account in order to use pastebin.

Go to Pastebin.com. In the New Paste window, paste your copied log.

Pastebin has several settings. We recommend the following:

Syntax Highlighting: None

Paste Expiration: 1 Month

Paste Exposure: Unlisted

Paste Name / Title: This can be whatever you want!

Click the Create New Paste button and copy the URL.

The more logs you share, the better! Try to submit the most recent 2-3 logs in the LeagueClient Logs folder, creating a seperate Pastebin link for each.

Submit a bug report using the client

Restart the alpha client and log in. There are two places you can submit a bug report:

  • The “report bugs” button on the lower section of the homepage in the alpha client
  • The bug icon that’s always at the bottom of the friends list

Fill out the bug report form and paste the Pastebin link you created into the links window at the bottom of the bug report form.
