Issues with the League of Legends Store (PvP.Net) Follow

If you're having issues accessing the League of Legends Store, this article will help you troubleshoot them. Issues in the store are primarily caused by the network and default web browser settings. For example, Internet Explorer is a dependency of League of Legends if you are running it on a Windows machine, and so is Safari if you are running it on a Mac, even if you use a different browser normally.

  • You see the following error: You have encountered and error. Please try again later.
  • You see the following error: Session Expired (with Commando Galio staring into your soul from the background).
  • You see the error that starts with the following text: There was a problem with your request...
  • Store appears blank, black or empty.
  • The Store page has graphical issues and/or appears distorted.
  • Item prices appear as ???.
  • You have enough RP or IP on your account but cannot unlock new content.

Note: If your operating system or network connection requires its own specific settings for the default browser to work, you may want to contact your system administrator before making significant changes.

  • If your Windows Clock is out of sync with real time, it will not provide our servers with correctly timestamped certificates. This could affect connectivity to the League of Legends servers, store or matches. In order to avoid those issues, follow the solutions shown below:

    Syncing your clock manually

    • Right-click on your computer's clock and choose Adjust Date/Time.
    • Select the Internet Time tab, and click the Change Settings button.
    • At this point you may receive a UAC prompt. After this prompt, click the Update now button to resync.

If the above steps didn't work, please try the following instead:

      • Press [Windows Key] + R
      • Type cmd
      • Press Ok
      • Type the following command:
    net start w32time
      • This will start the time sync service if it is currently not active.
      • Press Enter
      • Type the following command:
    w32tm /resync
    • This will resync your clock. If it fails, you may have to manually set your time and date.
    • Press Enter

Sometimes the Internet Security Settings are too restrictive and can block the Store. Resetting them to the default value (Medium-high) will prevent them from blocking Store content.

Resetting Windows Internet Security to default:

    • Open the Start Menu
    • Open Control Panel
    • Open Internet Options
    • Select the Security tab
    • Set the security level to Medium-high
    • Click Apply

    Resetting Windows Internet Options

The Store inherits some of its settings from the Windows Internet Options. If those options are not set correctly, you may experience a number of issues, such as images not displaying correctly or pages not loading in the Store. The steps below show how to reset those settings to their default values:

    • Open the Start Menu
    • Open Control Panel
    • Open Internet Options
    • Select the Advanced tab
    • Click the 'Reset...' button and confirm the action
    • Check the Delete personal settings checkbox (Warning: This will reset your personal browser settings)
    • Click on the Reset button

Verify Internet Explorer is not in Offline Mode

The Windows Client for League of Legends inherits some of its settings from Internet Explorer. If it is set to Work Offline, you will not be able to see the Store in the client. You can disable it by doing the following:

Note: If you have Internet Explorer 11, this does not apply to you as Internet Explorer 11 does not have an Offline mode.

    • Close League of Legends.
    • Open Internet Explorer from your desktop or Start Menu.
    • Open the File menu.
    • Verify that the option "Work Offline" does not have a check next to it.

League of Legends requires Internet Explorer to be fully up-to-date. You can download the update from Microsoft's site here:

    Microsoft Fixit

Microsoft has a "fixit" file that can be used to automatically resolve issues with Internet Explorer and Windows registry. The file can resolve webpage loading problems in the launcher and in the store. The file is not specific to any version of Windows and can be downloaded here:

Many updates to the Operating System include critical bug fixes and extensions that allow games to run without issues.

Updating Software in 10.8 (Mountain Lion):

    • From the Apple menu, click "Software Update."
    • The App Store will open and display any software updates available for OS X and Mac App Store apps. OS X updates will be at the top of the list.
    • Click "Update All" to install all available software updates. If prompted, enter an admin name and password, then Apple ID and password.
    • If required, restart your system.

    Updating Software in 10.7 (Lion):

    • From the Apple menu, click "Software Update."
    • Software Update will check for available updates. In the Software Update window, select the items you want to install and then click "Install." It is typically recommended that all available updates be installed.
    • When prompted, enter an administrator account name and password.
    • If required, restart your system.

Note: Unfortunately, we do not support earlier versions of Mac OS. If you have an older version, however, you are in luck - Apple is offering a free software upgrade to Yosemite (10.10), which is compatible with all previous versions of the operating system. You can find it here:
