If your problem sounds like this, you're in the right place:

Resolution

Following a known issue that was resolved during summer 2026, some game installs may have incorrectly cached too many files. This unnecessarily increased the storage space taken by League of Legends, but you can fix it in a few clicks by following these steps:

  1. Fully exit League of Legends.
  2. Open the League installation folder, usually in C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\
  3. Open the Saved folder.
  4. Delete the webcache folder to free up disk space.

These steps should free up a lot of space if your client was impacted by the issue we fixed. A typical install of League should take about 35 to 40GB at the time this article was written. While the client size will naturally grow over time with new patches, it should not drastically exceed this.
